The Silent Killer: HYPERTENSION Workshop

Austin Chinakidzwa, a Specialist Heart Failure Practitioner and Health Coach

On Tuesday 13th May, we hosted an important community health event in partnership with Luton EqualityPCN at The Burford Centre’s new home in the Lewsey Farm Learning Centre.

Our guest speaker, Austin Chinakidzwa, a Specialist Heart Failure Practitioner and Health Coach, delivered a powerful session on Hypertension, The Silent Killer.

High blood pressure can affect anyone, regardless of ethnicity, and regular checks are essential for early detection and prevention. However, statistics show that hypertension is significantly more prevalent in the Black community, particularly in areas like Luton making awareness and proactive health management even more critical.

A heartfelt thank you to all who joined us.

Chris monitored my progress via daily photos uploaded to his site and adjusted my nutrition throughout. I was shocked how quickly my physique began to change, my weight began to drop though no muscle mass was lost in fact I appeared to be gaining muscle mass whilst losing fat.
